7 Myths and facts about menstruation

Some common myths about menstruating are rumoured in our society which we need to beware of . Menstruating a is very normal body process which  occurs in women's body. Every woman as well as man should know about this body process so that our society may have better understanding about this.



There are a lot of myths about menstruating which I described below-

1.
Myth - Menstruating cycle must take 28 days.
Fact -Menstruating cycle period depends on the lifestyle , environment and meals taken. It can never be defined by a fixed number of days. It may take 24 days or 35 days and it is totally fine.

2.
Myth - Menstruating blood is impure.
Fact - Menstruating blood is not impure as it is made up of tissues , blood and mucus lining which are totally clean elements. The odour occurs in blood is due to Germs which it gets after coming out of the body.

3.
Myth - Women must not do exercise during periods.
Fact - Menstrual cycle is a natural body process exactly like other body processes and you no need to stop your regular routine due to periods because it does not harm your body at all. Choosing the right way of exercises can reduce period cramps and it keeps you away from laziness during this period.
You should choose the right exercises to do in this period because doing the wrong exercise can affect the flow of blood.

Myth  - The woman can't get pregnant during her periods.
Fact - Having periods is very normal and if you do sex during periods then there is equal chances to get pregnant as normal days.


5.
Myth - The woman shouldn't have sex during her periods.
Fact - Having sex during periods is as normal as doing sex during normal days . It helps you to reduce cramps and also it makes you avoid stress. doing sex during periods can cause hygiene issues so it is better to use condoms always so that you might not get STDs.


6.
Myth - Using tampons or menstruation cups can break virginity. 
Fact - tampons or menstrual cups do not break your virginity at all . Virginity is about you have had sex or not . Breaking hymen is not a parameter of virginity because some girls are born without hymen and some may lose it by heavy workouts or gym. 


7. 
Myth - It's okay to have sharp pain during periods. 
Fact - Having cramps and normal pain is common during periods but if you are having very sharp pain or unbearable cramps then it is a matter of serious concern and you should take advice from your personal doctor immediately.
