Benefits of waking up early in the morning and tips to wake up early

Waking up early seems very scary to the people who wake up after 9 AM, But it is the key to being more energetic and healthier. Human body is made to sleep early and wake up early as melatonin levels begin to rise after sunset. It is the hormone that makes us sleep faster and deeper. So, if you are tired of your unenergetic schedule and less active, just go to bed early and wake up early. There are many examples of the successful personalities who always wake up early in the morning, some of them are PV Sindhu, Sundar Pichai, Mark Zuckerberg, Akshaya Kumar, Virat Kohli, Ratan Tata and many more.



Here are the benefits of waking up early and also some tips that  can help you waking up early in the morning –

*Early morning is the time of peace and less distractions like calls, texts or any other kind of distractions. So it is the best time to do something beneficial that can help you improve your skills.

*Mind stays in its calmest state in the morning with more creativity, will power, focus and thoughts. So if you want to improve your skills and do the work differently than others, then early morning is the best time to work.

*Morning environment is undisturbed, peaceful and pure which makes you feel calm. It is the best time to practice yoga and meditation. Regular practice of yoga and meditation will make you more focused and calmer. It also reduces the stress level.

*Waking up early allows you to do some extra work and utilize the time wisely. Thus, it also increases the productivity to get more work done and get free early.

every day –


*Sleep early-

The first and the most important step to wake up early is to sleep early. Somehow it is more difficult to sleep early than to wake up early because night time is the time to enjoy the free time after all the work done in the whole day. Just try to keep your electronic devices away after 9 PM and sleep down in the dark. Studies show that it is easier to sleep at 10 PM than to sleep at 1 AM. So, if you sleep early, half of your job is done. If you do not feel sleepy after 10 PM then keep your mobile or laptop away and read any book in the dim light or listen to the soulful music. You can also try some floral or mild fragrances. You can use essential oils for the fragrances. You can take shower before going to bed for better sleep. One can also try meditation or some breathing exercises to calm your body before sleeping.



*Prepare for sleep –

If You want to wake up early then you need to sleep early and also eat dinner early. Take light dinner as overeating reduces the level of melatonin which makes it difficult to sleep. Overeating and eating a lot of oily or junk foods make you wake up tired and less active because it needs more energy to digest. So, avoid eating junk food for better sleep. You can set an alarm one hour before going to bed to have a reminder that you should prepare for sleep and shut your gadgets down. You can take lukewarm milk 30 minutes before sleeping , adding saffron, turmeric, cinnamon or Ashwagandha for better sleep.



*Things to avoid –

Avoid taking tea, coffee or the drinks that contain caffeine in them after 5 PM. Also try to avoid going to the gym or workout late in the evening because it can disturb your sleep.



*Sleep in proper direction –

It is advisable not to sleep while heading in  the north direction due to the magnetic pull of the earth. East is the best direction to keep your head during sleep. Also sleep on the left side, it promotes digestion.



*Prepare your mind to wake up early –

Give your mind a good reason to wake up. Just make a to-do list before sleeping so that your mind can remind you that you need to do some work after waking up. If you do not have any work to do early in the morning then your mind will force you to sleep for a while more.



*Do not snooze your alarm –

Studies show that there is no better time to wake up fresher after 10 minutes of your alarm time. So, if you snooze your alarm, it will make you more lazy and less active. Try to keep your alarm watch away from your bed so that you walk a little to stop the alarm. You should take warm water just after waking up because it is healthy for your body as well as the best drink to make you active.



These are a few simple steps that can help you wake up early as well as wake up fresh , active and hassle free. It might be challenging for the first few days but always remember the longer you do the easier it gets.
