17 Indian Life Hacks For A Healthy Life Style

1. Do not add milk, curd , cornstarch or cream to the curries 
Do you also add milk, corn starch, cream or curd to the curries to make them thick and more tasty? Well according to the Ayurveda, curd should never be heated and the cream should never be combined with salt. It may impure blood and lead to skin diseases . 
So what is the solution to this problem? 
Well one can use plant based milk instead of cow milk like coconut milk. One can also add Gond Katira (Shiraz gum) to increase the thickness of the curry as well as health benefits of the curry. Yes, gond katira can be used as a jelly type ingredient to the curries. For it just take a spoon of crushed gond katira and keep it in the hot water for 2 hr before adding to the curries, it will provide thick texture to the curry as well as increase its health benefits.


2. Add rice kheer to your night meal to sleep well
Do you feel trouble sleeping ?
Just eat rice kheer made with mishri (rock candy) or jaggery instead of refined sugar. Being heavy and sweet ,it will enhance your mood as well as make you sleep like a baby. Just take it after dinner .


3. Jaggery as a post meal for better digestion
Indian rituals always consider the jaggery as a post meal for better digestion ,but it is hard to find a better quality jaggery in the market. The simple tip to find the better quality of jaggery is to check its colour. The darker its colour, the better it is for your health.

4. Use ginger if you are suffering from weak digestion
Are you suffering from weak digestion? Ayurveda suggests that eating a small piece of ginger with rock salt before a meal can promote your digestion. Ginger might not always be available . So one simple hack is to take a large size ginger, cut it into pieces, sprinkle rock salt over and add lemon juice to preserve it and store it in an airtight container. One can store it for 10 to 14 days without refrigeration. Every time take a piece and have it before your meal. It is as tasty as a pickle and also beneficial for better digestion.


5. Avoid overeating 
If you do not know how much you should eat or you often end up overeating. According to the Ayurveda, you should stop eating at first burp, it is a signal that you are done with your meal. Anything that you eat after the first burp is overloading your stomach .

Where the copper charged water is beneficial to keep the body cool and promote digestion, the copper container, while put on a wooden surface, produces the vibrations that are beneficial for a good sleep. So next time you search for a better water container, go for a copper jug.


7. Eating fruits or salad to lose fat
Do you also eat salad or fruits to lose fat?
Well it is fine to eat fruits or salad but most of the people make the mistake of adding salt into it. Instead of adding salt, add lemon juice or black pepper into it .It will promote your digestion and also make it more tasty and healthy.

Well Ayurveda suggests this natural remedy to get rid of period pain. Just take one glass of tea hot water and add a spoon of cow ghee into it. Take it daily during periods and you will see its magical results.

10. Amla as an immunity booster
Amla is considered as no. 1 immunity booster on this planet while consumed in its pure form . It is tough to eat it directly due to its sour taste. Just keep it in warm water for 5 minutes before eating it with a meal. Adding it to your regular diet will increase your immunity as well as keep your hair , skin and eyes healthy.


11. Clench your teeth during the toilet or bowl
It seems very dramatic but yes clenching teeth during bowel makes bowel movement easy and also makes teeth strong. This is due to their nerve connection. Isn't it amazing?


12. Include spices and astringent foods in your regular diet  to reduce over sweating and over bleeding
If you suffer from over sweating or over bleeding, you should often include astringent foods and spices in your diet. Mostly green vegetables are astringent foods. Bay leaf ,coriander seeds are some examples of astringent spices.


13. Include sour foods in your regular diet to reduce burping and bloating
If you suffer from over burping or bloating then you must include sour foods in your regular diet. Sour foods are naturally carminative and release excess gas. Add amla, tamarind and lemon  to your regular diet and see these issues disappearing.


14. Do not eat wrong food combinations
Do you suffer from skin diseases like acne, pimples, white marks or itching? It symbolizes that you have impure blood in your body. The most common reason for impure blood is consuming wrong food combinations like milk with salt or heating curd . To resolve this problem, you should add bitter foods in your diet, they are natural blood purifiers. You can consume bitter gourd or fenugreek seeds as bitter food.

16. Foods not to be consumed after sunset
According to the Ayurveda one should not take curd in a night meal. Curd has its cooling properties which leads to a cold or cough if consumed after sunset. If you need to consume it then try taking it with black pepper powder which moderates its cooling effects.


17. Soak clay bowl to increase its life
Do your clay pots crack too soon ?  Just soak it into the water for 8-12 hours before first  use. It will make it strong and increase its life.
