1. Use of sunlight
Various uses of sunlight are now proved beyond doubt.

After knowing the fantastic benefits of Sunlight, we should utilise it in the proper way. Sunlight is a natural antibacterial solution. Keep the pulses and grains in the sunlight, especially in the rainy season and keep them free from germs.
In the winters, When washing regularly is not that feasible, just keep your blankets, bedsheets or pillow covers in the sunlight and it will keep it germ free as well as warmer.
Keep your water containers in the sunlight and use this sunlight charged water to drink. Taking a sunbath is a good option to fulfil the requirements of Vitamin D.
Instead of using the chemicals to sanitise your room, just let the windows open and nature's own natural sunlight will sanitise your place. A natural sanitizer kills the harmful microbes, increases air quality, increases immunity and uplifts the mood.
We should use this nature's divine gift because it naturally keeps the mind positive and happy, improves the immune system, lowers the blood pressure and improves sleep quality.
2. Eat local and seasonal food
Food, doesn't matter how nutritious or healthy on a paper but if it does not get absorbed in the body, it's not worthy. If you think that expensive things are always better or fall during the off season or pay double prices for the foreign fruits, You're wrong.
Smartly go to the local wanderers and buy low priced and seasonal fruits and vegetables. The fruits and vegetables which are cheapest are seasonal. We should understand that the items that are locally grown are more fresh and economical.
The fruits that are local are not just tastier and juicer but also gut friendly and easy to assimilate in the body. When you buy foreign fruits or vegetables, you are also paying for cold storage and international transportation of these fruits and vegetables.
So I prefer coconut over avocado, cauliflower over broccoli, cabbage over lettuce, spinach over kale, red apples over green apples and grapes over kiwis. The person buying foreign fruits, even after spending more will face nutritional deficiencies.
Consuming local and seasonal fruits keeps your hair and skin healthier and keeps your body active. By purchasing local fruits, you are also helping our country's local economy to grow.
3. Make home food tastier
Boring home food is not only less delicious but also gets hard to absorb in the body. If the home food is boring then one would turn his nose up to the home food and spend way too much on expensive restaurants and delivered food. It will cost health as well.
Just put a little effort into making home food interesting and as tasty as possible. Just add variety to your food. Instead of eating just chapati in daily meals just diversify your meal and make chapati using different flours. You can frequently knead chapati dough with various vegetables like spinach, carrot, beetroot or methi. You can add varieties of rice and pulses. You can try different recipes on different days like multigrain pancakes, dosa, idli or chilla some day. Try colourful varieties of fruits and vegetables.
You can have a variety of sweets, shakes or home made ice creams to enhance the interest towards home food. You can simply design a food chart including different meals and stick it to the wall. 4. Do not count the calories
Some people just try to connect their fitness journey with some maths calculations of the calories and count them. One can also keep a diet planner for himself and calculate how many calories he should take or how much water he should drink.
We should understand that not all calories are the same . 200 calories of a soft drink will not provide you as nourishment as 200 calories of fresh milk. Cutting down good calories from your diet leads to low energy and deficiencies of key minerals.
Instead of counting the calories, just eat your food mindfully, relishing every bite of it. Instead of paying a hefty amount to the dietician, just follow your very own dietician, Stomach. If on a certain day you feel full, just skip your meal. If some day you feel more hungry, just eat accordingly. Sometimes you may feel just thirsty, not hungry, just follow what your body needs to say. You will see achieving your fitness goal is much easier with this tip.
Even modern studies suggest that counting calories and eating calculated is not just outdated but also wrong. So listen to your body and work like that.
5. Eat smartly
Overeating, even healthy food, surely leads to problems.
If you are the one who overeats the food just to avoid wastage of food or keep the remaining food in the fridge, you are causing health issues.
You should appreciate the fact that food is most beneficial when it is consumed freshly. Just make the right quantity of food and if the prepared food is extra, just do not overeat or refrigerate it. You must be aware that food has living prana which gets reduced over time. So just avoid consuming the same food again.
There are many other creatures that depend on us for their food. Yes I'm talking about the stray animals starving for food. Just give them the extra food and it will make you happier too. This step will not only make you healthier but also make you more thoughtful about the other creatures around you. You will also feel pleasant and happy by doing this responsible act of kindness.
